1967 FORD COUNTRY SEDAN 10 SEATER STATION WAGON. NOW SOLD! Finished in stunning Sauterne Gold with contrasting Ivy/ Gold interior. These wagons are incredibly rare to find in any condition but to find one in this condition and with this cars provenance would be virtually impossible!Specially ordered new for export by the then President of the Mexican Department for Trade and Commerce, this car was optioned with just about everything Ford could put in it for 67 and delivered new in Tijuana Mexico. The car is supplied with all the supporting evidence including its original bill of sale, window sticker, sales literature, owners handbooks etc. The Marti report states it was one of one ordered in this configuration. The options included:
The car also featured the Ford 'Magic Tailgate' a design launched on the 66-67 station wagons that allowed the tailgate to be opened traditionally downwards or open outwards as a door to allow better access for the rear seats. The car is in just beautiful condition, the paintwork is great with only a few minor blemishes to mention on the rear tailgate where there is some blistering. The interior is perfect, with just a slight crack on the drivers arm rest trim. The glass and chrome are excellent. The engine bay is very nicely detailed and the motor has no oil leaks! The car sits very nicely on a set of period correct Ford Rally wheels shod with BF Goodrich radial tyres.
I have just completed a 300 mile journey in this car without issue, the big block 390 motor pulls well and has a nice burble from the rear side exit exhausts, a feature designed not to suck in fumes when the tailgate window is down. with the exception of the radio and speed control everything works in the car, I had not checked the fuse box which could be a simple fix for the two items not working.
The milometer displays 28500 which is conceivable given the cars overall stunning condition though I cannot verify this. Sorry…Now sold and on its way to New Zealand,,we would love another if you have one.
